How Many Laser Hair Removal Sessions Will I Need?
Laser hair removal usually requires a series of treatments. The exact number and timing of sessions depend on the treatment area, hair color and thickness, skin tone, hair-growth cycle, and your individual response.
Many clients schedule appointments about 4–6 weeks apart. Your La Vilna provider will recommend a personalized treatment schedule and explain whether maintenance sessions may be helpful after your initial course.

- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have sunburn, an active rash, infection, cold sore, or open wound
- Have recently tanned or used self-tanner
- Take photosensitizing medication or isotretinoin
- Have recently waxed, tweezed, or sugared the area
- Have a history of skin cancer, keloid scarring, or light-triggered seizures
Please tell us about all medications and medical conditions before treatment.
Before your treatment
- Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanner for 7 to 10 days
- Do not wax, tweeze, sugar, or epilate for 6 to 8 weeks
- Shave the treatment area 24 hours before your appointment
- Arrive with clean, dry skin, without lotion, oil, deodorant, or makeup
- Tell us about medications and recent skin treatments
After your treatment
- Avoid sun exposure and apply SPF 30+ daily
- Avoid hot showers, workouts, saunas, and swimming for 2 to 3 days
- Avoid scrubs, acids, and retinol until the skin feels calm
- Do not wax, tweeze, or sugar between sessions; shaving is fine
- Apply a cool compress if needed
Mild redness is normal. Treated hair will begin to shed within 10 to 14 days.
